The organizationPHILADELPHIAwas waiting for.
Friends for Good began in 2019 with a simple observation: thousands of busy young professionals in Philly wanted to volunteer — they just didn't know where to start. So we built the entry point.
FRIENDS ALL ASKING
THE SAME QUESTION.
"How can we help?" In 2019, a group of young Philadelphians kept running into the same wall. The city they loved had real needs. They had energy, wanted to make time, and had a network of like minded friends. What was missing was an entry point to give back to their community that fit their lives and made it simple and effective to give back. So they built one.
The first event was a shelter meal service. A handful of friends showed up. Then a few more. Then a few more of theirs. Within two years, Friends for Good had become the go-to volunteer community for young professionals across Philadelphia.
In 2025 alone, FFG mobilized 865 volunteers, reached 10,381 neighbors, and secured its second round of institutional grants — marking a new chapter of organizational maturity. The question those founders asked in 2019 now has an answer with seven years of receipts.
Why people keep coming back.
Show up, do something meaningful, go home feeling better.
We work around a professional schedule — purely volunteer, no headaches to get involved. Most events are 2 hours on weeknights or weekend mornings.
Every dollar and hour stays in Philadelphia.
We partner with shelters, schools, and community orgs across all of Philly's neighborhoods. Our impact is your neighbors and we are 99% passthrough.
Bring a friend, or make a new one.
FFG is a volunteer organization that's also where you meet your people. The friendships are not a side effect — they're the whole point.
